About Me

Fast Facts
Birthday:11 November
Hometown:Lisbon
Residence:Costa da Caparica
I'm Portuguese software Engineer with an eternal passion for world traveling, photography and adventure sports.
Tide up to a professional career, that allowed me to only to explore the world only during work holidays.
It was during the vacations trip to Australia and New Zealand in 2008 that I had contact with countless backpackers that left everything behind to do world traveling, specially in Asia.
That trip lead to rethink my golds and the course my life.
But it was only in 2009 on vacations trip to Thailand and Indonesia that I had the idea to quit my job and leave everything to go backpacking around Asia.
This journey went far beyond a vacation trip: presented whole new set of challenges and pushed photography to a whole new level.
Traveling without a guide and on a shoestring for a long time carries many differences from a typical vacation trip.
Interact daily with people that don't a hold a language that I can communicate, lead to me to develop other communication skills.
Traveling in poor countries also means many times to be hassled by hawkers and touts that are always looking for ways to make our pockets lighter.
Sometimes with elaborated schemes. These journey also lead to learn how to deal with them and keep it cool even when its overwhelming.
I'm amazed by beauty, whenever its human, nature, urban or pure stillness. The journey provide me the time to admire it, and camera to capture it.
This journey redefined my perception of Asia, the world and ultimately about myself.

Journey

In the summer of 2009 I planned a trip to Asia of 6 months to one year that would cover Southeast Asia, Far East Asia and Indian Subcontinent.
After a short while it became clear that only a Timeless Journey would allow me to go beyond the touristy places, and give the time to study and understand societies, people and nature.
This journey has many golds that goes from the typical tourist actions like visit monuments, relax on the beach and make friendships to push the limits and travel on minimal conditions and hike mountains until I run out of breath.
But above all the most important its to live the adventure of a lifetime.
In
daysI traveled throughout Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China and India.
Still there are many adventures to live like see Angkor Wat from a Balloon, Hike the Sacred Mountains of China, reach Evarest Base Camp, watch the Volcanoes on Indonesia and much much more.
